WALLA WALLA, WASH. --- The Pacific Lutheran University Women's Golf team concluded the Fall season on Monday, finishing in 5^th place. Senior Emily Fisher lead the way for the Lutes in both rounds and carding his career-low with a 77 in the opening round.
 
ON THE COURSE
 
Senior Emily Fisher lead the way for the Lutes in the opening round with the lowest round of her PLU career; a five-over 77. Fisher avoided double bogeys on her card while carding 13 pars in round one, including two stretches of five-straight pars.
 
Freshman Ashley Nguyen continued her strong play on Sunday, carding an 85 with one birdie. Sophomore Sara Rhodes also fired an 85 for the Lutes in the opening round. Just behind, freshman Abby Matelski opened with an 86 to round out the team score for the Lutes in the first round.
 
Freshman Kathleen Pullin also improved on her season average with an 86 in the first round on Monday. Rounding out the team was senior Ariana Warren with a 94 in round one.
 
Fisher got her final round off to a great start, making birdie on two of her first three holes of the day. She also lead the team in the second round, shooting an 81, good for 12^th place. The top-15 finish is Fisher's best of the Fall season.
 
Matelski improved in the second round, shooting an 82, highlighted by three total birdies. The freshman finished her fall season in 24^th place. Rhodes also improved in day two, making 11 pars on her way to shooting an 84. Rhodes finished just behind Matelski, with a tie for 27^th place.
 
Nguyen completed the team scoring for the Lutes with a 91 in round two, finishing in 36^th place. Warren stayed consistent, shooting a 95 and finishing in a tie for 40^th place. Pulling completed her first Fall season as Lute, shooting a 98 and finishing in 38^th place.
 
As a team, the Lutes finished fifth place with scores of 333 and 338 for the two rounds.

The Lutes Women's Golf team heads into the Winter months with hopes of continuous improvement in the Northwest Conference Standings in the Spring season.
