TACOMA, Wash. — The Pacific Lutheran University men's and women's swimming programs excelled in the classroom during the 2022-2023 academic year and was recognized on Monday by the Collegiate Swim Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) with the Scholar All-America Team Award.
The PLU women's program boasted a 3.77 cumulative grade point average, ranking fourth-best among NCAA Division III programs and securing the 11th best GPA among all college swim programs (All three NCAA divisions, NAIA, and the NJCAA). The Lute women's swim squad holds the top GPA among Northwest Conference peers with seven total NWC programs earning the honor.
The PLU men's team earns the award with a 3.30 GPA and is one of seven conference institutions to be recognized with the honor.
To be eligible for the award, programs needed to be active CSCAA members and have a team GPA of 3.0 or above. All told, 714 teams earned Scholar All-America Team honors for the spring semester, representing 17,445 student-athletes across the country.
