BELLINGHAM, Wash. --- The Pacific Lutheran University Men's Golf team completed the 54-hole stroke play tournament hosted by Division II Western Washington University on Tuesday, taking 13
th-place as a team, finishing just behind Saint Martin's University. The Lutes were led by junior
Koen Solis and Sophomore
Marcus Otto.

Solis began the opening round on hole 11 for the 36-hole first round, going three-over through his first eight holes. The Mill Creek, Wash. native rebounded with three birdies in his final eight holes to shoot a one-over 73. His second round on Monday was much of the opposite, he sat at one-over through his first nine, before carding a double bogey in the final stretch to shoot a four-over 76. Solis got back to work on Tuesday, starting on hole 13, and finishing with four bogeys and two birdies for a 74 to close out the tournament in a tie for 38
th place.

Sophomore
Marcus Otto got back to his 2023 ways in round one, shooting a two-under 70 to put himself inside the top-ten individually through 18 holes. Otto regressed to a two-over 74 in round two, but was one-under heading into hole 9 and walked away two-over. The Helsingborg, Sweden native made three birdies but couldn't limit the damage in the final round, shooting a 79 and tying with Solis for 38
th place.

Sophomore
Tanner Frinell began his second tournament with an opening-round 77, and matching his 77 in the second round on Monday. Frinell improved by one-stroke in the final round, carding four birdies on his way to a 76 and a tie for 58
th place. Freshman
Soren Bostrom returned to action after finishing as the second-best Lute in the season opener. Bostrom fired a 78, 75 on Monday, highlighted by three consecutive birdies on holes 10 through 12 to close out the second round. Bostrom closed out the week with a 77 to match Frinell over the three rounds, tied for 58
th place in the Division II tournament.

Freshman
Geo Pirrie made his first appearance in the Lutes starting roster on Monday, beginning with a nine-over 81 and ending Monday with an 84. Pirrie finished his first 54-hole collegiate event on Tuesday with an 82 to finish in 70
th place.

The Lutes took 13
th place as a team, entering Tuesday, they were in 12
th and ahead of Saint Martin's University but fell back after a team score of 306 in the final round. With team scores of 298, 302, and 306, the Lutes 906 total finished six strokes behind the Trojans.

The Lutes look to bounce back this weekend, as they compete in cross-town rival Puget Sound's tournament in Soap Lake, Washington.
