WOODBURN, Ore. --- The Pacific Lutheran University Men's Golf team jumped up one spot after the final round of the Northwest Conference Fall Classic, finishing in fourth-place. Junior Koen Solis led the Lutes after round one with a two-under par 70, but it was sophomore Marcus Otto who carded rounds of 71, 70 to take sixth-place in the tournament.
 
Solis began his tournament with four birdies in the first nine holes, but a pair of bogeys on the back-nine held him to a two-under par 70 in the opening round. The junior fell a bit to close out the tournament, but saved his round by going two-under in his final three holes to finish in eighth-place.
 
Marcus Otto's opening round one-under 71 was followed by a two-under par 70 in the final round. Otto began the final round three-over through the first five holes, but went five-under in the final 13 holes, highlighted by a 32 on the front nine. The sophomore's 141 total was good for a solo sixth-place finish.
 
Sophomore Tanner Frinell carded an opening-round 79 but greatly improved in the final round thanks to making 14 pars on his way to an even-par 72. Frinell jumped 12 spots on the leaderboard in the final round to finish in a tie for 27^th-place.
 
Luke Butler carded one of his best tournament rounds of the season and continued his strong play from the Logger Shootout, carding a one-over 73 in the opening round. But his final round 80 dropped him back to a tie for 32^nd place. Freshman Geo Pirrie fired rounds of 76, 77 in his Northwest Conference-debut, good for a tie for 32^nd place with Butler.
 
Otto led the Lutes with eight birdies over the two rounds, meanwhile Solis had the lone eagle for the Lutes on hole nine of the final round. PLU's six-over par total for the tournament helped them jump George Fox in the team standings to take fourth.
 
The Lutes close out the fall season next weekend at the Confluence Classic hosted by Whitman College in Walla Walla, Washington.
