PORTLAND, Ore.--- The Pacific Lutheran University women's track and field team sent a flurry of individuals to Lewis & Clark with their sights set on recording nationally-qualifying marks. The women's squad racked up enough points to take fifth in the carnival.

Anna Iverson competed in the women's 10k race, taking fourth in the event with a time of 41 minutes-seven seconds; good for five points for the Lutes team.

Katy Cook threw the Javelin for the Lutes, taking third in the meet with a toss of 35.62-meters. Meanwhile
Kristine Nguyen added a new season best jump of 3.21-meters in the pole vault, finishing fourth and adding five more points for the team.

The sisters from Lakewood, Wash.,
Alicia-Ellalynn Soliai and
Georjina Soliai, competed for the Lutes in the shot put. Alicia-Ellalynn took home the title with a personal best throw of 13.85-meters. Her sister, Georjina, held the second-best mark in the meet with a throw of 12.35-meters. The duo combined for 18 points towards the Lutes team, propelling the squad to a fifth place finish in the meet.

The Lutes will have one final shot next Thursday to send individuals to compete on the national stage. The women's squad look to compete in the George Fox Bruin's Last Chance Invite in Newberg, Oregon.
