Complete USC Region X Poll
TACOMA, Wash. — The eight-time defending Northwest Conference Champion Pacific Lutheran University women's soccer team continues to inch up the regional rankings, climbing up two spots to sixth in the United Soccer Coaches' (USC) Region X poll released on Tuesday.
The Lutes (6-2-4, 6-0-2 NWC) cracked the rankings for the first time last week and shoot up two spots to sixth in the sixth poll of the season. PLU is one of two NWC schools in the rankings with crosstown rival University of Puget Sound (6-2-4, 5-0-3 NWC) sitting one spot ahead in fifth. The top four remained static from a week ago with California's Pomona-Pitzer Colleges (9-0-2) headlining the top spot. California Lutheran University (9-2-1) is second with Claremont McKenna-Harvey Mudd-Scripps Colleges (11-2-1) third. Trinity University (8-1-3) represents the Lone Star State as the region's fourth ranked team.
PLU's rise in the polls comes after generating a pair of road wins last weekend thanks to a trio of goals from
Liv Olson. The NWC leading Lutes notched a 2-1 victory over Whitman College on Saturday before edging Whitworth University 1-0 on Sunday. PLU resumes its five-match road swing this Saturday, facing Lewis & Clark College in Portland to open the second half of the NWC slate.Â
