Day 3 Results
FEDERAL WAY, Wash. -- The Pacific Lutheran University men's and women's swimming teams held steady on Saturday at the 2025 Northwest Conference Championships. Anchored by strong swims by
Riley Maher and
Devin Stanley the two squads remain in sixth place in the team standings after day three inside the King County Aquatic Center.
The Lute men sit sixth with 178 points, enjoying a 26-point cushion on seventh place Willamette University. The PLU women have racked up 164 points and are just six points ahead of seventh place George Fox University. Whitworth University leads the team standings for both the men and women, scoring 564.5 points in the men's competition and 449 in the women's standings.
For the second consecutive night,
Riley Maher turned in a top three finish, snagging third overall in the 400-yard individual medley, touching the wall in four minutes, 38.0 seconds while teammate
Scout Hawkins was seventh overall in the same event, stopping the clock in 4:48.73.
Julissa Pernsteiner won the B final of the 100-yard breaststroke, placing ninth overall in 1:08.72 with an effort that was faster than two swimmers in the A final.
Emma Gassman followed Pernsteiner's lead, winning the B final of the 100-yard backstroke in 59.05. Gassman's brisk time would have placed second overall in the A final, clocking a time that was better than all but Linfield University's Sarah Arpag and her winning time of 58.45. Also in the B final was Lola Chargulaf who finished 14th in 1:02.37.
Melissa Zuniga was 11th in the 100-yard butterfly in 1:00.93 while Chargualaf was 14th in 1:02.68.
Devin Stanley led the men's team's efforts on Saturday, finishing fifth in the finals of the 100-yard backstroke in 52.18.
Luke Farag and
Na'inoa Loo were in the B final of the same event, clocking times of 54.68 and 55.04 to finish 12th and 13th, respectively. Â
Christian Georgi was seventh in the 100-yard breaststroke, finishing in 59.57 while
Dakota Domingo (1:00.05) and
Na'inoa Loo (1:00.46) finished 11th and 13th, respectively, in the 100-yard breaststroke.
Tyler Tanaka was eighth overall in the 400-yard individual medley, clocking a time of 4:13.82.
Dylan Dang logged a 12th place showing in the 100-yard butterfly in 51.84 while
Anthony James was 13th in the 200-yard freestyle in 1:48.20.
Domingo, James,
August Hertz, and Stanley closed out the night with a fifth place showing in the 200-yard freestyle relay (1:25.70).
The Lutes finish off the championships tomorrow with preliminaries at 9 a.m. and finals set for 4 p.m.
