Lutes Win 6 Events in Newberg

NEWBERG, Ore. — The Pacific Lutheran University men's and women's track & field programs boasted six event winners, one season best performance, and one personal best performance on Thursday, competing at the George Fox Final Qualifier.

2025 NWC Triple Jump Champion Kyleigh Archer continues to impress, winning the event for the third straight meet with a personal best leap of 38 feet, 4 ¼ inches. That mark, which ranks third all-time in school history, came on the sophomore's six and final attempt of the day to take the top spot. Teammate Madison Downey was runner-up in the event with a jump of 37' 6".

Ryan Stracke headlined PLU's efforts on the track. The NWC Champion in the 5,000-meters blew away the rest of the field in the event, making 12 ½ laps around the oval in a season-best time of 14 minutes, 18.02 seconds. It's an effort that ranks 32nd in NCAA Division III this season.

Grady Lemma won the 400-meter hurdles in 56.14 while the Lutes' collected event wins from George Sonko in the discus (146' 1"), Bridger Hanis in the high jump (5' 10 ¾"), and Darius Chaffin in the javelin (194' 9").

Kai Sorensen narrowly missed a PR in the 800-meters, with the NWC Champion placing runner-up in 1:52.91 while Micah Ragaza-Bourassa was second in the hammer throw (150' 6").

Eva Wirth was runner-up in the hammer throw (149' 1"), while Addisen Hering was fourth in both the 400-meter hurdles (1:11.95) and 110-meter hurdles (15.21 in prelims; 15.50 in finals).

Qualifiers for the 2025 NCAA Division III Outdoor Track & Field Championships will be announced on Friday.
