Official NCAA Release
TACOMA, Wash. — The NCAA released participants for the 2025 NCAA Division III Outdoor Track & Field Championships on Friday evening with Pacific Lutheran University student-athlete
Darius Chaffin securing a spot at the meet in the javelin.
The Kalihi, Hawaii native punched his ticket after placing runner-up at the 2025 Northwest Conference Championships back in April, tossing a season-best throw of 204 feet, seven inches to make a return to the national meet. Chaffin's throw currently stands as the 17th best throw in Division III this season.Â
Chaffin is no stranger to the NCAA Championships, competing and earning All-American honors at the 2022 Championships. The senior finished seventh overall at the 2022 national meet with a personal record throw of 211' 3" that currently stands as the third best mark in program history.
The 2025 NCAA Championships are being held in Geneva, Ohio which is a familiar venue for Chaffin as it's the same location the 2022 meet was contested at. Chaffin and the rest of the javelin field will compete at 5:45 p.m. (Eastern) next Thursday in day one of the three day championships.Â
