Men's Track & Field Honored by CSC

TACOMA, Wash. — Five Pacific Lutheran University men's track & field student-athletes were recognized for their athletic and academic abilities, earning College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District honors.

Aidan Donnelly, Owen Ladinig, Grady Lemma, Kai Sorensen, and Ryan Stracke were the five Lutes to earn CSC Academic All-District.

A senior pole vaulter, Donnelly earns the award for the first time in his career. Donnelly competed in 10 meets this year, clearing a personal best 13 feet,  six ¼ inch at the Ed Boitano Invitational on March 1 while placing 12th at the 2025 Northwest Conference Championships on April 27.

A senior distance runner, Owen Ladinig secures the honor for the second time. Ladinig was runner-up in the 10,000-meters at the NWC Championships with a personal best time of 30 minutes. 32.88 seconds while winning the 5,000-meters at the PLU Invitational on March 14. During the cross country season, Ladinig earned All-Region honors with a 27th place finish at the West Region Championships. 

A senior hurdler, Grady Lemma lands CSC All-District for the third consecutive year. Lemma raced in 13 meets this year, placing runner-up in the 400-meter hurdles at the NWC Championships and was third at the conference meet in the 110-meter hurdles. Lemma won the 400-meter hurdles in five meets this season and won the 110-meter hurdles twice.

A junior distance runner, Kai Sorensen grabs All-District laurels for the second straight season. Sorensen raced in 13 meets on the track, winning the NWC title in the 800-meters. Sorensen would win the 800-meters again a week later, clocking a personal best time of 1:52.62 at the Linfield Open. 
 
A senior distance runner, Ryan Stracke is honored by CSC for the third straight year. This spring, Stracke was the NWC's Most Outstanding Athlete after winning the NWC title in both the 5,000-meters and 10,000-meters. Stracke's personal best time of 30:11.56 shattered the school record in the 10K, a mark that had stood since the 1999 season. 

To be eligible for CSC Academic All-District, student-athletes must have a grade point average of 3.50 on a 4.00 scale or higher and with an academic standing of sophomore or above.
