TACOMA, Wash. — The Pacific Lutheran University men's and women's swimming programs continued to excel in the classroom during the fall, both earning Team Scholar All-America honors from the College Swimming and Diving Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) on Tuesday.
The Lute women's team is one of six Northwest Conference institutions to be recognized with the award, securing a team grade point average of 3.51 during the fall semester. The PLU men's team rocked a 3.48 GPA in the fall semester, the second best GPA among men's teams in the NWC. All told, six of the nine NWC men's programs earned the honor. Â

To be eligible, programs needed to maintain a team GPA of 3.00 of higher during the fall 2025 semester while reflecting a sustained commitment to academic excellence alongside competitive achievement. All told, 709 teams representing 414 institutions from all three NCAA divisions, the NAIA, and junior college ranks, earned the academic team award. Â
The Lutes are off to a strong start to the season with both programs 5-0 in NWC dual meets and both placing runner-up back in November at the Bruin Invitational. PLU has two more weeks of conference dual meets before heading to Boise, Idaho for the 2025 NWC Championships at the Idaho Central Aquatic Center.Â
