TACOMA, Wash.— The Pacific Lutheran University men's track and field team began its 2026 campaign placing sixth at the Ed Boitano Invitational hosted by University of Puget Sound on Saturday.
13 other teams were competing on the men's side consisting of schools from across NCAA Division I, II, III, NAIA, and the junior college ranks. PLU finished with 39 team points trailing only Whitworth University and Puget Sound as the top Division III schools.
Micah Ragaza-Bourassa started things off in the hammer throw on Friday finishing fourth with a heave of 168 feet, eight inches.
Griffin Montana and
George Sonko would also place high marks on throws side in shot put finishing back-to-back in fifth and sixth with throws of 45' 10.75" and 44' 4".
Hunter Kleindl,
Peter Essex, and
Kaiden Schlag would score for PLU in the pole vault making some positive strides for the Lutes. Kleindl would take second with a height of 13'11", Essex just behind in fifth with a 12'11" and Schlag in seventh with a jump of 12' 5.25".
Bridger Hanis held things down in the high jump finishing 4th with a final height of 6' 1.5".
Seth Kramer would follow suit in the long jump placing in second with a distance of 23' 0 3/4".
Tyger Willingham led the sprints, finishing the 100-meters in 11.26 seconds while Noah Friedericj headlined the distance runners, finishing the 10,000-meters in 32:28.25.
PLU will return to action on Friday, March 13 as they host the PLU Open.
