"There's still a ton of growth ahead of us and we need to be patient and disciplined to hit our potential as a team and today was a solid first step towards that."

Archer made the most of her Lute debut, winning the triple jump with a leap of 34 feet, 1 1/4 inches with teammates Kloe Salazar finishing seventh overall (32' 2") and Madison Downey placing eighth (31' 1 1/4").

"Kyleigh had an impressive debut and brings a great mentality to the team."

On the track, the Lutes' 4x100-meter relay team of Nguyen, Caprye, Salazar and Youngs finished second overall in 54.25 seconds.

PLU finished fourth overall as a team-scoring 84 points to enjoy a 21-point edge on Division II Seattle Pacific University in fifth. Northwest Conference rival Whitworth University sat atop the standings with 138 points followed by Division II Western Washington University (92 points).

The Lutes are back in action on Friday, hosting the PLU Invitational in the first of two home meets for the program.
