TACOMA, Wash.— It was a total team effort for the Pacific Lutheran University women's track & field team on Saturday at the Peyton-Shotwell Invitational. The Lutes won four events and the team title, owning a 16-point advantage on host University of Puget Sound.

"It was a smaller meet but thought it was a solid day all around for us," said Head CoachÂ
Trey Henderson.

"Right now is about continuing to get conference qualifying marks and we did that today. We're closing in on the final stretch before conference so it's about building confidence and experience."

PLU flexed its muscles in the throws, winning the shot put and discus.
Teuila Ilalio topped the field in the shot put with a toss of 38' 9 ¾" with
Georjina Soliai runner-up with a toss of 38' 8 ¾".
Alicia-Ellalynn Soliai was fourth (36' 6 ¾") with
Carole Ramos in fifth (35' 9 ½") and
Samayia White in sixth (34' 4").Â

In the discus,
Eva Wirth uncorked a personal best throw of 125' 1" to win the event with
Alicia-Ellalynn Soliai third (115' 10"). Ramos was the third Lute in the top five, placing fifth with a throw of 114' 6".Â

Kyleigh Archer continued to have a standout debut season, winning the long jump with a season best leap of 16 feet, 1 ½ inches and placing runner-up in the triple jump with a mark of 35' 6 ½". Teammate
Sarah Brandt was second in the long jump (15' 0 ½") with
Madison Downey fifth (14' 6 ½").
Kloe Salazar was third in the triple jump (33' 11 ½") with Downey fourth overall (32' 0 ¾").Â

Kristine Nguyen soared over a season-best 10' 6", to win the pole vault with Downey finishing fourth overall in the same event.Â

Abi Caprye was third in the high jump, clearing 4' 9 ¾" with
Kaylie Bracy fourth (4' 7 ¾") and
Allie Youngs fifth (4' 6").Â

In the javelin,
Katy Cook was third overall with a throw of 108' 10".Â

Anna Iverson was runner-up in the 1,500-meters in a personal best time of five minutes, 11.81 seconds with
Zoey Holt fourth in the same event (5:21.85) in addition to placing fourth in the 800-meters (2:33.71).Â

Damaris Ibrahim collected a personal best time in the 400-meter hurdles, circling the track in 1:24.55 to finish fifth overall. Â

D'Yhana Clemons was sixth in the 100-meter dash in 13.44 with
Allie Youngs eighth in 13.62. Â

PLU scored 152.5 points, enjoying a 16-point spread on the second place Loggers at the 15-team event.Â

PLU returns to the track next Saturday, competing at the Pacific Open in Forest Grove, Oregon.Â
