EUGENE, Ore.--- The Pacific Lutheran University Men's and Women's track and field teams sent individuals down to Oregon in hopes of recording new bests to reach the NCAA Division III National Championships in a pair of weeks.

On the Men's side,
Grady Lemma led the Lutes in the 400-meter hurdles, as he placed second with a time of 56.85-seconds. Lemma finished just behind the top finisher from the University of Oregon. In the field events,
George Sonko took third in the discus throw behind two Ducks, as his best throw of 148-feet, eight inches, earned him the top-three finish.
Seth Kramer took fifth in the long jump, as is leap of 21-feet, 2.75-inches, was just six inches shy of the fourth-place finisher from Seattle University.
Darius Chaffin's toss of 180-feet, seven inches, earned him sixth place in the javelin throw on Friday.
On Saturday,
Kai Sorensen was the only Lute to compete at the Portland Twilight, as he finished eighth in the 800-meter race; running a time of 1:53.30.

Freshman
Addisen Hering led the PLU Women's team, as she carded a new personal-best, as well as the 63
rd best time among Division III athletes in the 100-meter hurdles. Her time of 14.90 seconds earned a fifth-place finish. Senior
Eva Wirth was the top Lute thrower in the hammer throw, as her best of 147-feet, 10-inches, was good for fourth. Wirth finished ahead of
Katy Cook (fifth), and
Samayia White (sixth) in the event. Cook also competed in the javelin throw, taking seventh, with a toss of 103-feet, six inches.

Both sqauds look ahead to the George Fox Last Chance meet next Thursday, in hopes of qualifying for the NCAA Division III National Championships in under two weeks.
