TACOMA, Wash. -Â Already having secured the program's sixth consecutive Northwest Conference dual meet title, the Pacific Lutheran University women's swimming team added an undefeated regular season to its resume on Saturday afternoon, blasting crosstown rival University of Puget Sound 157.5-104.5.

The victory extends PLU's (9-0, 8-0 NWC) unbeaten streak against Northwest Conference competition to 12 straight, capping off the program's first unbeaten NWC run since the 2016-2017 season.
"Very excited for the women and their undefeated season," said Head Coach
Matt Sellman. "It's been a fun season and we finished the way we wanted to. I'm proud of the team and especially the seniors who bookended their careers with undefeated conference seasons."

The Lutes started the meet off strong with
Kiyomi Kishaba,
Whitney Mundle,
Bailey Hamilton, and
Lauren Kearney collaborating to win the 200-yard medley relay in one minute, 50.13 seconds.Â

Hannah VanHeyningen (11:20.81) and
Allie Burke (11:25.67) finished one-two in the 1,000-yard freestyle while Kishaba edged the field in the 100-yard backstroke, posting a winning time of 1:00.38, while also winning the 200-yard backstroke in 2:10.46.

Claire Cranch swam to the win in the 200-yard butterfly, touching the wall in 2:14.32 before winning the 500-yard freestyle in 5:25.67 with teammate
Jenna Muller (5:30.30) finishing runner-up.Â

Bailey Hamilton captured the 50-yard freestyle (25.08) while
Victoria Nguyenle finished at the top of the podium in the 200-yard breaststroke (2:30.30). The Lutes closed out the day with Kearney, VanHeyningen,
Whitney Mundle, and
Sidney Chan-Orcutt winning the 400-yard medley relay in 3:46.87.Â

Jenna Muller was second in the 200-yard freestyle (2:04.55) while the Lutes also received runner-up finishes from Nguyenle in the 100-yard breaststroke (1:08.73), Hamilton in the 100-yard freestyle (55.35) and 100-yard butterfly (59.49), along with Cranch in the 200-yard individual medley (2:13.48),Â

PLU returns to the pool on Feb. 13 for day one of the 2020 NWC Championships held at the King County Aquatic Center in Federal Way, Washington.Â
