PORTLAND, Ore. - Bailey Forsyth clocked her fastest wind-legal 200-meter time of the season on Saturday, winning the event in the process as the Pacific Lutheran University men's and women's track & field team sent a handful of athletes to compete at the Portland Distance Carnival.

Forsyth, the defending national champion in the 100-meters and 200-meters, easily won the 200 in a blazing time of 24.53 seconds. It is the senior's best wind legal time this spring and likely cements a return to the NCAA Championships.

Ryan Stracke shattered the school record in the 5,000-meters, circling the oval in 14:15.83 to place third overall. Stracke's effort is nearly 10 seconds faster than the previous school mark set by All-American Brad Hodkinson in 2018.

Joining Forsyth on the top of the podium was
Masum Real. The 2022 Northwest Conference Champion in the shot put won the event on Friday with a toss of 46 feet, 10 inches. Real additionally was sixth in the discus (127' 7") with
Larson Fairbairn placing third (139' 7"). Fairbairn also was fifth in the hammer throw (150' 1").Â

Corey Solomon was runner-up in the men's pole vault, clearing 15' 0" with
Kristine Nguyen placing fourth in the women's vault (10' 6 ¼").

Hezekiah Goodwin was the top D3 finisher in the 3,000-meter steeplechase, clocking a time of 9:22.29 and placing behind a trio of Gonzaga University runners. Teammate
Stefans Lusis was one spot back in sixth (9:34.69) while in the 1,500-meters
Logan Werner clocked a time of 3:59.22. In the 5K,
Erick Arcos finishing in 16:16.1.
Daniel Samson finished off the meet for the Lutes in the 10,000-meters, setting a PR after making 25 loops on the track in 33:24.67 and was the top D3 finisher.Â
The Lutes compete at the George Fox Final Qualifier on Thursday in Newberg, Oregon.Â
