FEDERAL WAY, Wash. — A strong showing in the 200-yard breaststroke, including a runner-up finish from
Tyler Tanaka helped the Pacific Lutheran University men's swimming team secure sixth place in the team standings on Sunday evening in the final day of the 2025 Northwest Conference Championships.
Tyler Tanaka nearly stole the NWC crown in the 200-yard breaststroke, surging into second place and falling just 0.18 seconds shy of the title, clocking a time of 2:05.48. Teammate
Christian Georgi was fifth overall in 2:08.71 while
Na'inoa Loo was fourth in the B final and 12
th overall in 2:14.46.Â

PLU dominated the B final of the 200-yard backstroke, securing the top three spots.
Christian Georgi won the B final in 1:58.60 with
Ian Rho second in 1:58.97 and
Luke Farag third in 2:00.26.Â

Dakota Domingo won the B final in the 100-yard freestyle in 46.76 with
Devin Stanley sixth in the same heat and 14
th overall in an effort of 47.60.Â

Domingo, Tanaka, Loo, and
Devin Stanley closed out the meet by finishing sixth overall in the 400-yard freestyle relay, touching the wall in 3:11.90.Â
PLU accumulated 274 points over the four day meet, enjoying a 83-point gap on seventh place George Fox University. In-state rival Whitworth University repeated as champions with 814.5 points with crosstown nemesis University of Puget Sound a distant second with 536.5 points. Whitman College was third with a team tally of 392 and Linfield University rounded out the top four and was the top Oregon team with 374 points.Â

Pacific Lutheran opened the meet on Thursday night with the 800-yard freestyle collecting a sixth place finish in 7:10.43. Friday's racing saw
Devin Stanley place eighth in the 50-yard freestyle (21.59) and helping the 400-yard medley relay team to a fourth place finish in 3:27.51.

Saturday's highlights included
Tyler Tanaka finishing eighth in the 400-yard individual medley (4:13.82),
Christian Georgi logging a seventh place showing in the 100-yard breaststroke (59.57), Stanley fifth in the 100-yard backstroke (52.18) and the Lutes' 200-yard freestyle relay team finishing fifth (1:25.70).
